“Art receptions are always exciting and, as a long-time member of San Francisco Women Artists I’ve attended more openings than I can count. But something new has come about that greatly enhances the fun of attending a new show opening: live music!
Lisa Sniderman and her backup accompanist David Sands, playing under the name Aoede (Greek muse of song), have provided their special mode of music for several openings, and the atmosphere of the events has changed. Their music — all of it created by Lisa — is an aural underscoring of the visual beauty of the installed works, an embellishment that enhances both arts’ media.
Lisa’s songs are unique, but subtle influences of Joni Mitchell and Carly Simon are apparent — gentle, absorbing, tuneful, with lyrics that carry poignancy. Allie Hyde, San Francisco Women Artists”
