Greetings Lou!
All I can say is Wow-what a wild ride November has been already, and it's not even half over yet. "Yes we did" has become a household phrase worldwide, and now, we have new hope and new opportunity to create positive change...it is about time ...we will soon breathe again-yes we will! Wishing you and yours a simply wonderful holiday-however you choose to spend it.
October was a good kind of busy for us-highlights were the Oct 10 WomenROCK benefit and helping raise awareness for GINA-in particular talking about our local missing persons from the Bay Area-and playing in Las Vegas for the Las Vegas Girl Festival. My thanks to all of the WomenROCK performers (Kristin Hathaway, Melissa Rapp, Aoede, Grace Woods Trio and Vanessa Van Spall (to be named soon I'm sure!)), and to Kate Gaffney for trekking down from Sacramento for the occasion. Also appreciated the WomenROCKers who helped at the show-couldn't have done it without you girls! My thanks to Greg for photographing and to Alex Karweit who filled in on guitar. Lastly, to all who attended and became fans-my heartfelt thanks to you...We also just returned this weekend from TAXI's Road Rally in Los Angeles-it was a great music conference full of inspiration and interesting, talented people-the highlight for me was when Dave and I just sat down and started playing in the hotel lobby and others came to listen, join and play their music too...I'm psyched to write again now...

Just got some great News for JANUARY
Aoede's song I Lost, You Win from our album Push and Pull will be featured for the whole month of January on all of American Airlines flights as part of their in flight entertainment (on Channel 5)! If you or others you know are flying American be sure to listen for it and let me know if you hear it (I'll send you a special mp3 download of it if you do).

Stories Behind Push and Pull: the seeds for I Lost, You Win
In keeping with the tradition I started last month telling you a little story behind each of the songs on the new album ..for November it's I Lost, You Win (which you can find on myspace and amazon, itunes-the lyrics are on www.aoedemuse.com under music). A close friend confided in me about a personal and life altering decision she made-I wrote the song from her perspective-wanting to go back but knowing that she can't.
