Aoede-POP ROCK-News From the Muse-
FEBRUARY 2010

".....as I find myself being whisked away by the sounds of Aoede I need a copy of Push and Pull in the house, in the vehicle, in the studio and in my head all the time. I've added this gem to my own personal favorite collection, but then you will too once you've treated your ears to this masterpiece! Just remember....A-E-D!"

Push and Pull

Inspired, compelling stories of love, loss and longing spill out and take you, shake you, and wake you-emotionally evocative, intelligent, vocal driven *pop rock*...

Greetings:

up close and personal..  when one door closes another must be opening

My heart goes out to all the people in Haiti for lost loved ones and for picking up the pieces and starting over. Sometimes life has a way of putting things into perspective and illuminating what really matters. January has been a very reflective month sparked by some crazy personal health-related stuff that compelled me to do some serious soul searching - and I came through it with the support of loved ones via baby steps each day-moving forward that new song; getting through that piano book; recording bits and pieces of the new album; keeping the hope and the strength to be inspired and to inspire. I had to make a tough choice about a potentially life-changing future performance opportunity-and it was so hard to choose to pass something up that was once my dream-what I can say is that maybe the dream never dies-it just becomes a new dream...here's to making your dreams realities and to making new dreams.

memorable musical moments...

In January I went with the flow...that flow took me down, and is currently encouraging, two related paths. The first path is working on recordings that will culminate in some singles and the next album: some are brand new songs while others are songs such as Skeletons or Nothing Special that seem to be begging to be recorded. The other path I have embarked upon is developing a childrens book of sorts and companion cd to feature water and environmental issues in a pop-friendly style-Blue Gold, released in September, is intended to be part of this project. I welcome the flow and look forward to many surprises and to what arises...

Stories Behind The Muse-ic-the seeds for If You Already Knew

.
..
as usual, these stories are just for you-thank you for reading and making a connection! So, here are the seeds to some musical stories-ones we are asked to play often.

If You Already Knew is one of our newest and most simple songs, and I wrote it on piano. Imagine the feel of a fair or circus combined with a simple sweet melody about the stages of life-if you already knew what life would bring. The idea for the song was sparked from a discussion with a dear friend about how it would be if we knew what the day would bring-how perhaps nothing would be left to chance. We are currently recording pieces of the song.
